Part of Existing Ecological Areas
Under section 8 (1) (a) of the Forests (West Coast Accord) Act 2000, the Minister of Finance and the Minister for State-Owned Enterprises jointly declare that the land described in the Schedule is held under the Conservation Act 1987 for conservation purposes and as ecological areas subject to that Act, to be part of the ecological areas named in the Schedule and to be managed to protect the scientific values specified in this notice.
This notice shall take effect on 1 April 2002.
Schedule
Westland Land District-Grey District
Addition to Greenstone Ecological Area-
To complement and buffer the forests protected within that area.
1648.1900 hectares, being Section 3, S.O. 12667 (formerly part Section 2, S.O. 12140), Sections 3 and 4, S.O. 12141 and Section 6, S.O. 12140.
Addition to Otututu Ecological Area-
To complement the lowland terrace ecosystems represented in that area.
3413.0000 hectares, being Section 1, S.O. 12150.
