Energy Efficiency (Amendments to Incorporated Material) Notice 2002

Pursuant to the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act 2000, the Minister for Energy gives the following notice.
N o t i c e
1. Under section 37 (4) of the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act 2000, I give notice that the following amendments to the following standards which are listed in Schedule 1 and Schedule 2 of the Energy Efficiency (Energy Using Products) Regulations 2002 ("the Regulations"), are part of the Regulations:
(a) Amendment 2 to AS/NZS 3823.1.1: 1998 Performance of electrical appliances - Air conditioners and heat pumps - Part 1.1: Non-ducted air conditioners and heat pumps - Testing and rating for performance.
(b) Amendment 1 to AS/NZS 3823.1.2: 2001 Performance of electrical appliances - Air conditioners and heat pumps - Part 1.2: Test methods - Ducted air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps - Testing and rating for performance.
(c) Amendment 1 to AS/NZS 3823.2: 2001 Performance of electrical appliances - Air conditioners and heat pumps - Part 2: Energy labelling and minimum energy performance standard (MEPS) requirements.
(d) 2002 Revision to AS/NZS 3823.3: Performance of electrical appliances - Air conditioners and heat pumps - Part 3: Calculation of performance for minimum energy performance standard (MEPS) requirements.
2. These amendments take effect as part of the Regulations on the 7th day after the date of publication of this notice in the New Zealand Gazette.

Explanatory Note
The Energy Efficiency (Energy Using Products) Regulations 2002 incorporate by reference certain standards. The standards incorporated by reference that relate to air conditioners have been amended. This notice specifies the date upon which the amendments to the standards take effect as part of the Regulations.
