Pursuant to section 78M of the Education Act 1989, I direct the Secretary for Education to appoint a limited statutory manager to Patea Primary School (2425) because of risks to the operation of the school.
The following functions, powers and duties of the board are vested in the limited statutory manager:
? Managing board meetings;
? dealing with personnel issues including performance management of the principal; and
? dealing with all complaints to the board.
The limited statutory manager may also advise the board on the following matters:
? Financial management; and
? planning and reporting.
The following conditions apply to the exercising of the powers of the board by the limited statutory manager:
? Monthly reporting to the board; and
? monthly reporting to the Manager, Ministry of Education, Wanganui.
This notice takes effect the day after the date of publication of this notice.
