University of Otago Notice of Application to Vary Terms of a Charitable Trust Take notice that on the 9th day of September 2002 at 10.00 a.m., the University of Otago will move the High Court at Dunedin for an order approving the resettlement of the assets of the existing Medical Students' Loans Fund on a proposed new fund to be called the Medical Students' Assistance Fund. The application is being made on the grounds that it is impracticable or inexpedient for the university to carry out the purposes of the existing fund. The terms of the existing fund allow only the making of hardship loans to a limited class of students of the faculty of medicine of the University of Otago. The terms of the proposed new fund would broaden the trustees' powers to allow them to make hardship grants to a wider range of students of the faculty. Any person desiring to oppose the scheme shall give written notice of his or her intention to do so to the Registrar of the High Court, Private Bag 1925, Dunedin, and to the Trustees of the Medical Students' Loans Fund, care of Gallaway Cook Allan, P.O. Box 143, Dunedin, and to the Attorney-General, Crown Law Office, P.O. Box 5012, Wellington, not less than seven clear days before the 9th day of September 2002.
