I, Russell Paul Kilvington, Director of Maritime Safety, hereby give notice, pursuant to sections 47 (2) (b) (i) and (iii), and 47 (3) of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, as follows:
Maritime Management Services Limited (MMS) (a safe ship management company approved under Rule 21.12 of the Maritime Rules) is exempt from the requirement to perform an initial audit on any ship that enters the MMS safe ship management system, provided that
the ship has, immediately prior to entry into the MMS system, a current safe ship management certificate issued by Survey Auckland Limited (a safe ship management company approved under Rule 21.12 of the Maritime Rules).
This exemption expires 3 months after the date it is made.
