Notice of Direction to Require Screening Pursuant to section 77B (1) of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, notice is hereby given that I have directed the Aviation Security Service to perform the functions listed in the Schedule hereto, effective from 1 September 2002. Schedule ? In accordance with section 77B (1) (a) (i), to screen any person boarding an aircraft with a passenger seating capacity of more than 90 seats, being operated as part of a domestic air service; ? in accordance with section 77B (1) (a) (ii), to screen any hand carried items to be carried by such aircraft; ? in accordance with section 77B (1) (b) (i), if necessary, to undertake reasonable searches of any person boarding an aircraft with a passenger seating capacity of more than 90 seats, being operated as part of a domestic air service; and ? in accordance with section 77B (1) (b) (ii), if necessary, to undertake reasonable searches of any hand carried items to be carried by such aircraft.
