Pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962, and Regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976 and pursuant to an authority sub-delegated to me by the Land Transport Safety Authority of New Zealand dated 9 June 1997, I, Peter Graeme Croft, Manager, Safer Roads, give the following notice.
N o t i c e
1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Lower Hutt City) Notice No. 2, 2001.
2. (a) Those localities and roads on the plan numbered
LT 0144/2, entitled "Speed Restrictions - Lower Hutt City", and held by the Head Office of the
Land Transport Safety Authority, and indicated by markings in accordance with the legend on that Plan, are declared to be:
(i) closely populated localities at all times with a maximum speed limit of 50 kilometres an hour, pursuant to section 52 (1) of the Transport Act 1962, except where declared excluded from the limitations as to the speed imposed by section 52 (1) of the Act, pursuant to section 52 (2) of that Act; or
(ii) 70 kilometres an hour speed limit areas, pursuant to Regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976;
as may be ascertained from the legend. The plan and legend are hereby incorporated into this notice.
(b) Other roads shown on plan LT 0144/2, entitled "Speed Restrictions - Lower Hutt City", which are located outside the markings shown on that plan, are declared to be excluded from the limitations as to the speed imposed by section 52 (1) of the Transport Act 1962, pursuant to section 52 (2) of that Act.
3. The Traffic (Lower Hutt City) Notice 2001*, dated
22 May 2001, is revoked.
