A PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth The Second was graciously pleased, by a Commission passed under the Seal of
New Zealand, to appoint me, The Honourable Dame Silvia Rose Cartwright, to be Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over New Zealand.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, the Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief aforesaid, hereby proclaim and declare that I have this day taken the prescribed oaths before The Right Honourable Dame Sian Elias, Chief Justice of New Zealand, and that I have assumed the said office of Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over New Zealand under and by virtue of Her Majesty's said Commission.
Given under the hand of Her Excellency The Honourable Dame Silvia Rose Cartwright, Chancellor and Principal Companion of The New Zealand Order of Merit, Dame Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, Principal Companion of The Queen's Service Order, Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over New Zealand; and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 4th day of April 2001.
