Notice of Intention to Take Land-for Road Widening Purposes in High Street, Lower Hutt

Notice is hereby given that the Hutt City Council, under the provisions of section 23 of the Public Works Act 1981, proposes to take land described in the Schedule hereto
("the land").
The land is required for road widening purposes to facilitate the optimum design for an upgraded intersection.
It is intended to use the land to widen the corner of High and Daysh Streets in Avalon, Lower Hutt.
The intended taking is considered reasonably necessary for the safe and convenient use of the road, which was decided after extensive research, and approval by council.
The owners of the land and those persons with a registered interest in it have been served with notice of the Hutt City Council's intention to take the land and advised of their right to object.
Any other person having the right to object may send a written objection to the Registrar, Environment Court, Tribunals Division, Department for Courts, P.O. Box 5027, Wellington, within 20 working days after the date of publication of this notice.
If any objection is made in accordance with this notice, a public hearing will be held.
The objector will have a right to appear and be heard personally unless the objector otherwise requires.
Each objector will be informed of the time and place of the hearing.

All that piece of land containing 109 square metres, situated in Block IX, Belmont Survey District, being part Lot 2,
D.P. 13522, part certificate of title 529/262; as shown marked "A" S.O. Plan 304508, lodged in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Land Information New Zealand, at Wellington.
A copy of the plan may also be seen at the Property Section of the Hutt City Council, "The Pavilion", 25 Laings Road, Lower Hutt.
The land to be taken is situated approximately 2 kilometres north-east of Hutt City centre.
