Pursuant to section 7 (1A) of the Conservation Act 1987, and to a delegation from the Minister of Conservation, the Conservator of the Southland Conservancy of the Department of Conservation declares that the stewardship area described in the Schedule is held for conservation purposes and, pursuant to section 8 (1A) of the Conservation Act 1987, further declares that the conservation area shall hereafter be set apart as a reserve, subject to the Reserves Act 1977, and, pursuant to section 16 of the Reserves Act,
be classified as a local purpose reserve (environment and landscape protection) for the purposes specified in section 23 of the Reserves Act, subject to the provisions of the latter Act, and shall be vested in the Southland District Council, pursuant to section 26 of the said Act.
