Under the Reserves Act 1977, the Community Relations Manager of the East Coast Hawke's Bay Conservancy of the Department of Conservation classifies the reserve described in the Schedule as a local purpose (soil conservation and river control) reserve and vests the reserve in the Gisborne District Council in trust for that purpose.
