After due inquiry and in exercise of its powers under sections 42 (1) (b), 42 (2), 42 (3), 48F and 48A of the
Nurses Act 1977, the Nursing Council of New Zealand
("the council"), in a decision dated 7 November 2000, ordered that an enrolled nurse's name be removed from the roll of nurses.
It declined to fix a time after which she may apply to have her name reinstated to the roll.
The council also ordered that she pay $2,951.00 towards the costs and expenses of and incidental to the investigation and prosecution by the Director of Proceedings for the Health and Disability Commissioner and inquiry by the council, and that a notice stating the effect of the orders be published in the New Zealand Gazette, Kai Tiaki: Nursing New Zealand, and the Council's newsletter with all names and identifying features suppressed.
