as Applying to the Recognition of Specified Universities by the Veterinary Council of
New Zealand
Pursuant to section 12 of the Veterinarians Act 1994, the Veterinary Council of New Zealand gives the following notice.
N o t i c e
The Veterinary Council, having declared by New Zealand Gazette notice that the following university, veterinary college and institution degrees and diplomas in veterinary science conferred by such universities, veterinary colleges and institutions shall be recognised for the purposes of section 9 of the Veterinarians Act, now, as provided by section 12 (3), amends those notices by revoking recognition of the following:
? The Faculty of Veterinary Science, University College Dublin, National University of Ireland, degree of Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (M.V.B.).
? The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Justus Lieberg University of Geissen, Germany, degree of Zeugnis über die tieräzliche Staatsprüfung (State examination certificate in veterinary medicine).
? Ludwig-Maximilian University, Munich, Zeugnis über die tieräzliche Staatsprüfung (State examination certificate in veterinary medicine).
? Hannover Veterinary School, Zeugnis über die tieräzliche Staatsprüfung (State examination certificate in veterinary medicine).
? Free University, Berlin, Zeugnis über die tieräzliche Staatsprüfung (State examination certificate in veterinary medicine).
As of 22 March 2001, graduates from the aforementioned institutions will no longer be eligible for registration without further examination.
The change will not affect the registration of graduates of the aforementioned institutions who are already registered with the Veterinary Council of New Zealand, or who are registered on or prior to 22 March 2001.
