THE RIGHT HON. HELEN CLARK PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to section 28 of the Electoral Act 1993, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, and on the nomination of the House of Representatives, appoints
(a) as members of the Representation Commission to hold office under section 28 (2) (e) of the Electoral Act 1993 -
David Francis Caygill, of Christchurch (who is nominated to represent the Government); and
Ian McLean, Q.S.O., of Rotorua (who is nominated to represent the Opposition); and
(b) as members of the Representation Commission to hold office under section 28 (3) (b) of the Electoral Act 1993, for the purposes of determining the boundaries of the Maori electoral district -
Whetumarama Werata, of Lower Hutt (who is nominated to represent the Government); and
(Tamakore) Donald MacFarlane, of Rotorua (who is nominated to represent the Opposition).
