(No. 2) 2001
Section 11M of the Food Act 1981
The New Zealand (Emergency) Food Standard (No. 2) 2001 was issued by the Director-General of Health on 24 July 2001.
This emergency food standard will come into force upon notification in the New Zealand Gazette.
The New Zealand (Emergency) Food Standard (No. 2) 2001 amends the New Zealand (Mandatory) Food Standard 1997 by adding soy sauce, flavoured soy sauce, and sauce mixtures with a soy sauce base to the list of prescribed foods (high risk food).
The presence of chloropropanols is the condition to be monitored.
Compliance with the New Zealand (Emergency) Food Standard (No. 2) 2001 is mandatory.
It will remain in force for a maximum period of 6 months or, if a permanent amendment to the New Zealand (Mandatory) Food Standard 1997 is required, until that permanent amendment to the standard is introduced (whichever is earlier).
The New Zealand (Emergency) Food Standard (No. 2) 2001 can be inspected at the Ministry of Health, 133 Molesworth Street, Wellington, or may be viewed on the Ministry of Health web site:
