Notice of Intention to Consider Varying a Scheduled International Air Service Licence

Pursuant to section 83J (3) of the Civil Aviation Act
1990, I give notice that, having received an application from Air New Zealand Limited, the Minister of Transport intends to consider varying the Scheduled International Air Service Licence held by that airline to provide for:
? In respect of Australia, the operation of services optionally commencing at points behind New Zealand, via New Zealand and optionally any intermediate point(s), to any point(s) in Australia, and optionally to any point(s) beyond; the operation of all-cargo services from points in Australia to any point or points; and the filing of nature of services statements and tariffs to be for information purposes only.
? In respect of Malaysia, the operation of services optionally commencing at points behind New Zealand, via New Zealand and optionally any intermediate point(s), to any point(s) in Malaysia, and optionally to any point(s) beyond; and the filing of nature of services statements and tariffs to be for information purposes only.
? In respect of France, the operation of up to 2 return services per week with any aircraft type, or up to
4 return services per week with aircraft with capacity not exceeding 300 seats, on services from
New Zealand to Tahiti and beyond via intermediate points to the United States and beyond via intermediate points to London and beyond via intermediate points in third countries to New Zealand.
? In respect of Japan, the operation of up to 6 return B767 and 1 return B747 services per week, or if authorised by the Japanese aeronautical authorities, up to 5 return B767 and 2 return B747 services per week on services from New Zealand, optionally via Brisbane and/or Nadi, to Osaka; and the operation of up to
5 return B747 and 2 return B767 services per week, on services from New Zealand, optionally via Brisbane and/or Nadi, to Tokyo, and optionally Osaka.
? In respect of Canada, the exercise of own-stopover and fifth freedom rights for code-shared services via Australia.
