Pursuant to Regulation 1 (7) (a) of the Goods Service Vehicle (Constructional) Regulations 1936 and pursuant to the powers delegated to me by the Director of Land Transport Safety, I, Laszlo Andras Hidvegi, Senior Engineer, Vehicle Policy, hereby exempt the vehicles specified in Schedule 1 of this notice from the requirement in Schedule 2, subject to the conditions specified in Schedule 3.
Schedule 1
Exempted Vehicles
All Mercedes Benz Econic trucks, the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) of which starts with nine characters falling into the range of WDB957540 to WDB957680.
Schedule 2
The Requirement From Which the Vehicles are Exempted
Regulation 2 (4) (b) (ii) of the Goods Service Vehicle (Constructional) Regulations 1936, requiring an audible low air pressure warning device for the air brake system.
Schedule 3
Conditions of the Exemption
(i) The two factory fitted independent visual warning devices of the vehicles to warn the drivers if the air pressure in any of the service brake reservoirs drops below 6.8 bar; or if the air pressure in the parking brake system reservoir drops below 5.5 bar, must always be operable.
(ii) This exemption may be revoked at any time.
