Rules of Casino Table Games, Amendment No. 8

Pursuant to section 63 of the Casino Control Act 1990, the Casino Control Authority, on 7 December 2000, resolved that, with effect from 25 January 2001, the Rules of Casino Table Games approved to be conducted and played in the licensed casinos at:
(a) 30-38 Victoria Street, Christchurch;
(b) the property bounded by Hobson, Victoria, Federal and Wellesley Streets, Auckland;
(c) Southern Cross Hotel, 118 High Street, Dunedin;
(d) the property situated at Beach Street and Lake Esplanade, known as the "Steamerwharf Village", Queenstown; and
(e) the property situated at Beach Street and Cow Lane, Queenstown, known as Sky Alpine Queenstown Casino,
as set out in the following editions of the New Zealand Gazette:
(a) Supplement, 28 January 1998, Nos. 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13;
(b) Supplement, 29 January 1998, Nos. 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20;
(c) Supplement, 29 January 1999, Nos. 9, 10, 11 and 12;
(d) 9 September 1999, No. 114;
(e) 13 January 2000, No. 1;
(f) Supplement, 21 January 2000, No. 5;
(g) 11 May 2000, No. 49;
(h) Supplement, 12 May 2000, No. 50;
(i) 10 August 2000, No. 89; and
(j) 7 September, 2000, No. 123,
be subsequently amended as set out in the Schedule hereto.

Schedule
1.0 Commencement
These amendments shall come into force on 25 January 2001.
2.0 Division 6-Caribbean Stud Poker
Irregularities
Rule 12.4 of this division is hereby deleted and the following substituted:
"12.4 If a card is exposed in error to the dealer's hand, the card shall be left exposed as the dealer's face up card and the dealer's fifth card shall be dealt face down, and, where the cards are dealt from an automatic shuffler, shall not be turned over as provided in rule 8.4."
3.0 Division 7-Tournament Rules
Conditions of Entry
3.1 Rule 2.2 of this division is hereby deleted and the following substituted:
"2.2 Before accepting applications for entry into a tournament, the casino operator shall determine, in relation to the tournament:
(a) the form of the entry form;
(b) the amount of any entry fee;
(c) the value of tournament chips to be held by the players at the beginning of a session for the purposes of use in the session;
(d) whether tournament chips are to be issued gratuitously or at their face value;
(e) the minimum and maximum wager limits permitted at each gaming table;
(f) the minimum and maximum number of players in the tournament (if any);
(g) the duration of the sessions (including play-offs);
(h) the tournament prize list and the manner in which the prizes shall be distributed; and
(i) the version of play relating to cutting cards in tournament blackjack."
End of Session
3.2 Rule 5.3 of this division is hereby deleted and the following substituted:
"5.3 Subject to rule 5.1, and as provided for in the conditions of entry for a tournament, where the duration of a session is determined by a number of shoes, the session shall end:
(a) at the end of the round following the round during which the cutting card or the first of the cutting cards, as the case may be, is reached during the last shoe; or
(b) at the end of the round during which the cutting card or the first of the cutting cards, as the case may be, is reached during the last shoe; or
(c) whenever the cutting cards or the first of the cutting cards, as the case may be, is drawn as the first card of a new round."
Application-Blackjack
3.3 Rule 6.2 of this division is hereby deleted and the following substituted:
"6.2 The following rules shall not apply to the game of tournament blackjack:
(a) section 9 and rules 10.2 and 10.4 of division 1;
(b) rules 5.3, 5.8 and sections 14 and 15 of division 2;
(c) subject to rule 5.3 (b) and (c) of this division, rules 7.1, 8.7 and 8.8 of division 2; and
(d) in the case of pass cards only, rule 8.2 (a)."
3.4 Rule 6.4 of this division is hereby deleted and the following substituted:
"6.4 The dealer shall shuffle the cards so that they are randomly intermixed, in accordance with rule 6.3 of division 2 of the rules:
(a) immediately before the start of a session; or
(b) subject to rule 5.3 (a), following the drawing of the cutting card, or the first of the cutting cards, as the case may be; or
(c) at the discretion of the casino supervisor following any period during which the table has been vacant."
