Notice of Intention to Promote a Private Bill-

New Zealand Guardian Trust Company Amendment Bill
The New Zealand Guardian Trust Company Limited (NZGT) intends to promote the New Zealand Guardian Trust Company Amendment Bill ("the Bill") by petitioning the House of Representatives to introduce the Bill during the present session of Parliament or during the adjournment as the circumstances require.
The New Zealand Guardian Trust Company Act 1982 ("the principal Act") allows NZGT to transact business with its parent company and that parent company's subsidiaries and associated companies. The authorisation is limited in relation to NZGT's parent company at the time the principal Act was passed.
The objects of the Bill are:
1. To allow NZGT to transact business with its current, and any future, parent company and that parent company's subsidiaries and associated companies;
2. To validate any business transacted by NZGT with any parent company or that parent company's subsidiaries or associated companies between the commencement of the principal Act and the commencement of the Bill as an Act;
3. To ensure that the principal Act accurately reflects NZGT's current and potential future ownership structure.
Any communications to NZGT as the promoter of this Bill may be sent care of Bell Gully Buddle Weir, Barristers
& Solicitors, IBM Centre, 171 Featherston Street (P.O. Box 1291), Wellington.
A copy of the Bill has been deposited in the Auckland District Court, 65-69 Albert Street, Auckland (telephone: (09) 309 8065), and is open to public inspection during office hours, without a fee, for a period of 15 working days from the date of this notice.
