Under section 63 of the Conservation Act 1987, the Minister of Conservation declares the land described in the Schedule to be an ecological area and, further, adds the area to the
Big River Ecological Area to protect the value for which that area is held.

7048.8465 hectares, more or less, being areas "A" and "C" on S.O. Plan 14756.
