Place Name
Pursuant to section 12 of the New Zealand Geographic Board Act 1946, notice was given on the 28th day of October 1999 of the intention of the New Zealand Geographic Board to assign a new name, Omahu Bush.
An objection was received to this proposed name and was dealt with pursuant to section 13 of the said Act.
I hereby declare that it is my decision that the name of this place shall be Omahu Bush, as referred to in the first column of the Schedule below, and that this decision shall take effect on the 27th day of March 2000.

Omahu Bush Area of covenanted bush, along the Summit Road of the Port Hills of Banks Peninsula. Topographic map 260 M36 and M37 Lincoln, GR 2479000E 5727000N. Not named on current mapping, but locally known as both Omahu Bush and Prendergasts Bush.
