Under the Reserves Act 1977, the Community Relations Manager, of the Canterbury Conservancy of the Department of Conservation, classifies that part of the reserve, described in the First Schedule, as a local purpose (utility) reserve, and further classifies those parts of the reserve, described in the Second Schedule, as recreation reserve, subject to the provisions of the said Act.
