Order in Respect of Linda Jayne Collier-Registered General and Obstetric Nurse and Midwife
After due inquiry and in exercise of its powers under sections 41 (3), 48F, 42 (2) (ba), 42 (3) and 48A of the Nurses Act 1977, the Nursing Council of New Zealand ("the council"), in a decision dated 22 September 1998, ordered that Linda Jayne Collier only practise under the direct supervision of a midwife practitioner, to be approved by the council, for a period of 12 months and that approved supervisor is to provide a report to council quarterly on Linda Jayne Collier's practice.
The council confirmed that she pay $24,000.00 towards the costs and expenses of and incidental to the investigation and prosecution by the Health and Disability Commissioner and inquiry by the council, and also ordered that a notice stating the effect of these orders be published in the New Zealand Gazette, Kai Tiaki: Nursing New Zealand and The Press.
