Call for Submissions-Applications
The authority has made a preliminary assessment in the form of an Issues Paper and accepted the following application for further consideration.
Public comments on the application are now sought to enable a comprehensive assessment by the authority.
You are invited to present written submissions to the authority, including the potential regulatory impact on consumers, industry and government, by Wednesday,
6 December 2000.
? Application A413-Irradiation of Food: Request to Include Herbs & Spices, Nuts, Oil Seeds and Teas in Standard A-17-Irradiation of Food in the Australian Food Standards Code.

Proposals
The authority will conduct inquiries into the draft variations to standards prepared at supplementary inquiry of the following proposal.
You are invited to present written submissions to the authority on this matter by Tuesday, 24 October 2000.
? Proposal P226-Transitional Arrangements for Infant Formula Products.
The Transitional Arrangements Report for P226 can be obtained by emailing or contacting our information officer.
ANZFA proposes to temporarily withdraw Standard
2.9.1-Infant Formula Products from the proposed Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code.
As an interim replacement for the draft standard 2.9.1, the current Infant Formula Standard (R7) and associated provisions in the current Australian Food Standards Code should apply for the purposes of infant formula.
