Notice of Indemnity Given Pursuant to Section 59 (1) of the Public Finance Act 1989-Deep Seismic Survey Services Contract
Pursuant to section 59 (2) of the Public Finance Act 1989, the Minister of Finance makes the following statement:
In or about October 2000, the Minister of Finance, in relation to a contract between Land Information
New Zealand (LINZ) and Geco-Prakla International Limited, gave an indemnity to Geco-Prakla International Limited, in respect of any losses, costs, claims or liabilities in connection with:
(a) Injury or death of LINZ employees, officers and agents and those of its other contractors or invitees and loss of or damage to LINZ's property and that of its own contractors, in all cases irrespective of the negligence or breach of duty of Geco-Prakla International Limited;
(b) Injury to or death of any third parties and loss of or damage to the property of third parties, in all cases to the extent that the injury, death, loss or damage was caused or contributed to by LINZ.
