Pursuant to section 124 (1) (d) of the Social Security Act 1964, I, Steve Maharey, Minister of Social Services and Employment-
1. establish and approve the following amendment to the Childcare Assistance welfare programme (as established and approved on 19 December 1998); and
2. consequentially revoke my approval of the Childcare Assistance Amendment (No. 4) dated 15 November 1999,-
to come into effect on the day after this amendment is published in the New Zealand Gazette.

A m e n d m e n t
The definition of income in clause 2 (1) is amended by omitting from paragraph (a) the words "(other than an orphan's benefit or an unsupported child's benefit)", and substituting the words "(other than an orphan's benefit, an unsupported child's benefit, or a child disability allowance)".
