Pursuant to section 124 (1) (d) of the Social Security Act 1964, I, Steve Maharey, Minister of Social Services and Employment, establish and approve the following amendments to the Training Incentive Allowance welfare programme (as established and approved on 30 November 1998), which are to be read with and considered part of the programme with effect 1 April 2000.

A m e n d m e n t s
1. New Rates-Clause 6.1.1 of the programme (as substituted on 21 December 1999) is amended by omitting the figures "75" and "3,000", and substituting the figures "75.38" and "3,015.20" respectively.

Explanatory Note:
This note is not part of the amendments, but is intended to explain their general effect.
This amendment, to the Training Incentive Allowance Programme under section 124 (1) (d) of the Social Security Act 1964, increases the rate and the maximum annual amount of the training incentive allowance to take account of a CPI increase of 0.51%.
The increases come into effect on 1 April 2000.
