Notice of Election of Council
Notice is hereby given under the Pharmacy Act 1970 and the Pharmacy Regulations 1975, that an election of
7 members of the council of the Pharmaceutical Society of New Zealand will be held in the month of October 2000.
This election is required as a consequence of amendments made to the Pharmacy Act in October 1999 that have altered the composition of the council.
The 7 members will comprise 3 who represent the Auckland District, 2 who represent the Wellington district and 1 each representing the Canterbury and Otago districts.
In addition, there will be 5 other persons appointed by the Minister, only 2 of whom may be pharmacists.
Nomination of candidates, on the prescribed form, will close with the Registrar of the Pharmaceutical Society on Thursday, the 28th day of September 2000 at 4.00 p.m. Should a poll be required, voting papers must be returned to the Registrar on or before Thursday, the 19th day of October 2000 at 4.00 p.m.
Any persons who wish to be considered for nomination for appointment by the Minister are invited to submit their names and brief personal information to either the Registrar, or to Marion Thompson at the Ministry of Health.
The place for receiving nominations of candidates and voting papers relating to such candidates is the office of the Registrar, Pharmaceutical Society of New Zealand, Pharmacy House, 124 Dixon Street (P.O. Box 11-640), Wellington.
