Pursuant to section 37 of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, notification is hereby given of a summary of exemptions set out in the Schedule hereto, granted by the Director of Civil Aviation.
Schedule
0/EXE/50-CAR 92.7 (a) and (b)
On: 5 April 2000.
To: Each person offering or accepting dangerous goods for carriage by air; and each person carrying dangerous goods by air from the requirement in Civil Aviation Rule 92.7 (a) that a person shall not offer or accept dangerous goods
for carriage by air unless those goods are classified, documented, certificated, described, packaged, marked, and labelled in accordance with the Technical Instructions, and in the condition for shipment prescribed by the Technical Instructions; and from the requirement in Civil Aviation Rule 92.7 (b) that a person shall not carry dangerous goods by air unless those goods are accepted, handled, and carried in accordance with the Technical Instructions, only with respect to the Olympic Flame being transported from Athens, Greece, to Sydney, Australia via New Zealand for the 2000 Olympic Games.
This exemption shall apply until 31 August 2000 unless withdrawn in writing by the Director.
0/EXE/58-CAR 91.703 (d) (1)
On: 30 March 2000.
To: Each pilot-in-command of an aircraft participating in an aviation event conducted in accordance with the Warbirds Over Wanaka Easter 2000 Display Approval from the requirement in Civil Aviation Rule 91.703 (d) (1) that a pilot-in-command of an aircraft participating in an aviation event shall for display flights, other than a display of agricultural operations or helicopter operations, operate at a height of at least 100 feet above the surface.
This exemption shall remain in effect from 20 April 2000 to 24 April 2000 inclusive.

On: 5 April 2000.
To: Mount Cook Airline Limited from the requirements in:
(a) Civil Aviation Rule 121.71 (f) (1) that each aerodrome that is to be used by an aeroplane that
has a certificated seating capacity of more than
30 passengers and is engaged on a regular air transport passenger service, shall be an aerodrome that is associated with a Part 139 certificate; and
(b) Civil Aviation Rule 139.305 (5), that no person operating an aeroplane engaged on an air transport operation shall use any place for the purpose of landing at or taking off from unless, if the aeroplane has a certified seating capacity of more than
30 passengers and is engaged on a scheduled flight, the place is certificated as an aerodrome under
Part 139, only with respect to Wanaka Aerodrome.
This exemption shall remain in effect from 20 April to
24 April 2000 inclusive unless withdrawn in writing by the Director.

To: Air Nelson Limited from the requirement that:
(a) Civil Aviation Rule 121.71 (f) (1) that each aerodrome that is to be used by an aeroplane that
has a certificated seating capacity of more than
30 passengers and is engaged on a regular air transport passenger service, shall be an aerodrome that is associated with a Part 139 certificate; and
(b) Civil Aviation Rule 139.305 (5), that no person operating an aeroplane engaged on an air transport operation shall use any place for the purpose of landing at or taking off from unless, if the aeroplane has a certified seating capacity of more than

To: Wanaka Airport Management Committee from the requirement in Civil Aviation Rule 139.5 (a) that no person shall operate an aerodrome serving any aeroplane having a certified seating capacity of more than 30 passengers that is engaged in regular air transport operations except under the authority of, and in accordance with the provisions of, an aerodrome operating certificate issued for that aerodrome under Part 139.
This exemption shall remain in effect from 20 April 2000 to 24 April 2000 inclusive, the period of the Warbirds Over Wanaka air show, unless withdrawn in writing by the Director.
