Notice of Intention to Apply for Ministerial Approval of a Code of Practice and Revocation of its Current Edition Under the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992 Approved Code of Practice for the Design, Safe Operation, Maintenance and Servicing of Boilers Pursuant to section 20 of the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992, I, R. J. M. Hill, General Manager, Occupational Safety and Health Service of the Department of Labour, in exercise of those powers delegated to me by the Secretary of Labour, pursuant to section 41 of the State Sector Act 1988, hereby give notice of my intention, to apply to the Minister for Enterprise and Commerce for his approval of a statement of preferred work practices or arrangements for health and safety in the design, safe operation, maintenance and servicing of boilers as an ``Approved Code of Practice'' under the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992. These preferred work practices or arrangements are designed to describe safety and health precautions that should be taken in the design, use and maintenance of boilers. This approved code of practice will apply to attended, limited attendance, unattended, under 15 horse power and small boilers, and unfired heat recovery steam generators. Also included are recommendations for pressurised hot water boilers. Pursuant to section 20 (1) (b), I hereby also give notice of my intention to apply to the Minister for Enterprise and Commerce for his approval of revocation of the Approved Code of Practice for Design, Safe Operation, Maintenance and Servicing of Boilers, published by the Occupational Safety and Health Service, Department of Labour, Wellington, New Zealand, in March 1996.
