Limited and Firestone Tire and Rubber Company of New Zealand Limited Public Notice of Amalgamation Proposal Pursuant to Section 221 of the Companies Act 1993 The boards of Bridgestone Tyres (NZ) Limited, Firestone N.Z. Limited and Firestone Tire and Rubber Company of New Zealand Limited (amalgamating companies'') are required, in accordance with section 221 (4) (b) of the Companies Act 1993, to give notice of the proposed amalgamation of the amalgamating companies with Bridgestone Tyres (NZ) Limited. Bridgestone Tyres (NZ) Limited is intended to continue as the amalgamated company under the name Bridgestone/Firestone New Zealand Limited, and the amalgamation is intended to take effect from the 1st day of September 1998. Copies of the amalgamation proposal are available for inspection by any shareholder or creditor of any of the amalgamating companies or any person to whom any of the amalgamating companies are under an obligation, at the registered offices of the amalgamating companies detailed below, during normal business hours.
