Retirement and Appointment of Director of Civil Defence Pursuant to section 7 (6) of the Civil Defence Act 1983, notice is hereby given that Paul Nicholas Officer, m.v.o. retires as Director of Civil Defence on 30 June 1998; and John Norton has been appointed by me to be the Director of Civil Defence for a 3 year term commencing on 1 July 1998.
