Radiocommunications (Radio) Regulations (General Licence for Restricted Radiation Radio Apparatus) Notice 1998 Pursuant to regulation 13 of the Radiocommunications (Radio) Regulations 1993, and acting under delegated authority from the Secretary of Commerce, I give the following notice: N o t i c e 1. Short title and commencement (1) This notice may be cited as the Radiocommunications (Radio) Regulations (General Licence for Restricted Radiation Radio Apparatus) Notice 1998. (2) This notice comes into force on the 31st day of March 1998. 2. General licence A general licence under regulation 13 of the Radiocommunications (Radio) Regulations 1993 is granted for the installation, operation, and use of radio apparatus in accordance with the terms of this notice. 3. Terms, conditions and restrictions (1) The frequencies available for use under this licence are those specified in the First Schedule to this notice. (2) The maximum powers for transmission for available frequencies are those specified in the First Schedule to this notice. (3) The specific uses allowable for available frequencies are those specified in the First Schedule to this notice. (4) The technical conditions applying under this licence are those specified in the Second Schedule to this notice. (5) Frequency use is on a shared basis and the Secretary does not accept liability under any circumstances for any loss or damage of any kind occasioned by the unavailability of frequencies or interference to reception. (6) Frequency use is on a non-interference basis to all licensed services. Should interference occur the Secretary reserves the right to require that any apparatus licensed herein change frequency or cease operation. 4. Period of validity of licence This licence expires on the 31st day of January 1999. Spurious Emissions: Must not exceed 60 dBV/m at 10 metres (-55 dBW e.i.r.p.)* * Measured with a spectrum analyser or test receiver, with a bandwidth of 200 Hz for measurements lower than 150 kHz, a bandwidth of 9 kHz for measurements of 150 kHz or greater but less than 30 MHz, a bandwidth of 120 kHz for measurements of 30 MHz or greater but less than 1 GHz, and a bandwidth of 1 MHz for measurements of 1 GHz or greater. Explanatory Note This note is not part of the notice, but is intended to indicate its general effect. This note prescribes that, pursuant to regulation 7 of the Radiocommunications (Radio) Regulations 1993, a general licence is granted in respect of the installation, operation and use of restricted radiation radio apparatus on the frequencies specified in this notice. This notice comes into effect on the 31st day of March 1998.
