Exemption From Specified Requirements of the Traffic Regulations 1976 and the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1974 Pursuant to regulation 90 of the Traffic Regulations 1976, regulation 16a (2) of the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1974, and section 79 (4a) of the Transport Act 1962, I, Michael Joseph Small, National Co-ordinator Vehicle Compliance, hereby exempt the motor vehicles specified in Schedule 1 of this notice from the requirements listed in Schedule 2, provided that the vehicles comply with the conditions specified in Schedule 3 of this notice. Schedule 1 Specified Vehicles Any motor vehicle owned and operated in New Zealand by the Singapore Armed Forces for the purposes of a military exercise. Schedule 2 Requirements Exempted Regulation 62 (5) of the Traffic Regulations 1976. GSV reflectors within 150 mm of edges. Regulation 64 of the Traffic Regulations 1976. Cab and marker lights. Regulation 85 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976. Layout of WoF and CoF stickers. Regulation 16a (1) (b,c,d,e) of the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1974. Certification of tow couplings and load anchorage. Any specific requirements of the regulations cited in the ``ALTERNATIVE VEHICLE INSPECTION SYSTEM FOR THE SINGAPORE ARMY VEHICLES WHILE ON TEMPORARY EXERCISE IN NEW ZEALAND'' VCR2/03/81 NC98/237 Schedule 3 Conditions: (i) A copy of this notice must be carried in every individual vehicle operating within New Zealand and be available to the Police or Land Transport Safety Authority officer upon request. (ii) This exemption may be revoked at any time. (iii) Comply with the requirements of ``ALTERNATIVE VEHICLE INSPECTION SYSTEM FOR THE SINGAPORE ARMY VEHICLES WHILE ON TEMPORARY EXERCISE IN NEW ZEALAND'' VCR2/03/81 NC98/237 (iv) A vehicle safety certificate must be attached to the inside of the vehicle windscreen on the right hand side, or protected location in the case of guns or trailers. The vehicle safety certificate incorporates the certificate of loading. (v) The main use of these vehicles while in New Zealand is for off-road military exercises, and any public road use is restricted to the carrying out of off-road military exercises.
