The Traffic (Kaikoura District) Notice 1998 Pursuant to sections 52 and 52 (3) of the Transport Act 1962, and regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, and to an authority sub-delegated to me by the Land Transport Safety Authority of New Zealand dated 9 June 1997, I, Robert Albert Gibson, Acting Manager, Safer Roads, give the following notice: N o t i c e (1) This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Kaikoura District) Notice 1998. (2) The roads specified in the First Schedule are declared to be closely populated localities at all times pursuant to section 52 (1) (c) of the Transport Act 1962. (3) The roads specified in the Second Schedule are declared to be 70 kilometres an hour speed limit area pursuant to regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976. (4) The following notices are revoked: Notice dated the 27th day of April 1960* issued pursuant to section 36 of the Transport Act 1949. The Traffic (Kaikoura County) Notice No. 1, 1973**. First Schedule At Kaikoura: No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff), also known locally as Athelney Road, Beach Road or Churchill Street: from Mill Road to Scarborough Street. Adelphi Terrace. Austin Street. Avoca Street. Beach Road: from Athelney Road to a point 160 metres measured northerly, generally, along said road from Athelney Road. Bayview Street. Chance Haven. Cromer Street. Davidson Terrace. Deal Street. Dover Terrace. Edmund Avenue. Esplanade. Fyffe Avenue. Fyffe Quay. Gillings Lane: from Beach Road to a point 300 metres measured westerly, generally, along the said road from Beach Road. Grays Lane. Hastings Street. Hawthorn Road: from its eastern end to a point 180 metres measured westerly, generally, along the said road from Beach Road. Kaikoura Lookout Road. Kaka Road. Kea Place. Killarney Street. Kiwi Street. Kotare Place. Kotuku Street. Lower Ward Street. Ludstone Road: from Churchill Street to a point 500 metres measured westerly, generally, along the said road from Churchill Street. Margate Street. Maui Street. Mill Road: from its eastern end to a point 200 metres measured westerly, generally, along the said road from Athelney Road. Moa Road. Ramsgate Street. Rorrison Road: from Ludstone Road to a point 400 metres measured northerly, generally, along the said road from Ludstone Road. Scarborough Street. South Bay Parade. Seal Colony Road. Takahe Drive. Takahanga Terrace. Torquay Street. Tui Road. Wakatu Quay. Ward Street. Weka Road. West End. Whaleway Station Road. Whitby Place. Yarmouth Street. Second Schedule At Kekerengu: Kekerengu Road: from No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) to a point 800 metres measured westerly, generally along the said road from the said highway.
