Amendment to Constitution of Council of Northland Polytechnic Pursuant to section 170 of the Education Act 1989, the Minister of Education hereby gives the following notice. N o t i c e 1. This notice may be cited as the Constitution of the Northland Polytechnic Notice 1997. 2. This notice shall come into force on the day after the date of its publication in the New Zealand Gazette. 3. The Northland Polytechnic Council shall be constituted as follows: (a) Four persons appointed by the Minister of Education. (b) The chief executive officer of Northland Polytechnic. (c) One permanent member of the academic staff of Northland Polytechnic elected by the permanent members of that staff. (d) One permanent member of the general staff of Northland Polytechnic elected by the permanent members of that staff. (e) One person who is or has been a student of Northland Polytechnic who shall represent the students of Northland Polytechnic and who shall be elected by the Students Association of Tai Tokerau. (f) One person appointed in accordance with the council's constitution after consultation with the central organisation of employers within the meaning of the Employment Contracts Act 1991. (g) One person appointed in accordance with the council's constitution after consultation with the central organisation of employees within the meaning of the Employment Contracts Act 1991. (h) Up to two persons co-opted by the Northland Polytechnic Council if and when it thinks fit. 4. The term of office of persons appointed to the council other than the chief executive officer shall be three 4-year terms. 5. The Northland Polytechnic Notice 1990 appearing in the New Zealand Gazette, 11 October 1990, No. 176, page 3800, is hereby revoked. Dated at Wellington this 21st day of January 1997.
