Notice of Intention to Apply for Ministerial Approval of a Code of Practice Under the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992 Approved Code of Practice for Safety and Health in Tree Work;Part 3: Rivers and Stream Operations Pursuant to section 20 of the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992, I, R. J. M. Hill, General Manager, Occupational and Health Service of the Department of Labour, in exercise of those powers delegated to me by the Secretary of Labour, pursuant to section 41 of the State Sector Act 1988, hereby give notice of intention to apply to the Minister of Labour for his approval of a statement of preferred work practices or arrangements for health and safety in Rivers and Stream Operations as an ``Approved Code of Practice'' under the Act. These preferred work practices or arrangements are designed to describe the general operational safety and health provisions as to general safety rules, safety clothing and equipment, noise, first aid, safe use of chainsaws, mobile plant work, tree felling, tree lopping and layering and tree slotting and trenching for river and stream protection works.
