Approved Maritime Surveillance Equipment Under the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996 Whereas, pursuant to section 441 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Minister of Transport did delegate her power under section 35 of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996 to the Maritime Safety Authority by an Instrument of Delegation dated 19 March 1997. And whereas, pursuant to section 442 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Maritime Safety Authority did delegate those powers under section 35 of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996 to the Director of Maritime Safety by an Instrument of Delegation dated 26 March 1997. And whereas, pursuant to section 443 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994 the Director of Maritime Safety did delegate those powers under section 35 of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996 to me by an Instrument of Delegation dated 26 March 1997. Therefore I, Thomas Edwin Law, Harbours Advisor, hereby approve the following equipment to be approved maritime surveillance equipment for the purposes of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996: Approved Maritime Surveillance Equipment: Radar Furuno model FR-1510 Mk-2 fitted with Automatic Radar Plotter (ARPA) Model ARP-15 Gyro-Compass Robertson Model RGC50 Global Positioning System Receiver (GPS) Trimble Model SVeeSix with differential capability GPS Differential Receiver SatTrak Model DRX6 GPS Differential Decoder SatTrak Model DDX Speed Log Brookes and Gatehouse (B&G) Model Hydra 2 Chart Plotting Computer Apple MacIntosh Model PowerMac 7100-80 16/1080CD Chart Plotting Software MaxSea Fishing Pro Version 5 Interface Data Multiplexer PMS Model DM2I Interface Data Distributor PMS Model DD12 Interface Converter Aten Model IC-485S Interface Converter Aten Model IC-485SI Video Converter AverMedia Model Averskey 3 Video Camera Panasonic F-VHS-C movie camera NVS-90A Stills Camera Nikon 50 Video Recorder Panasonic NV HS 800EA Global Positioning System Garmin GPS 100 Personal Navigator Camera Cannon EOS 500 with Canon Zoom Lens EF75-300mm 1:4-5.6 operated in association with those vessels whilst working in or near the protected area designated ``Area 7 Cook Strait'' and while under the direct control of or working under instructions given in writing by Transpower New Zealand Limited.
