Notice of Appointment of Members of the Foundation for Research, Science and Technology Pursuant to section 9 (1) of the Foundation for Research, Science and Technology Act 1990, on 29 July 1996, His Excellency the Governor-General was pleased to appoint the following as members of the Foundation for Research, Science and Technology for terms of 3 years from 1 October 1996 to 30 September 1999: Dr Ian Oswald Smith, deputy vice-chancellor of Dunedin Professor Margaret Wyn Loutit, retired university professor of Dunedin Dr Geoffrey Page, chief executive officer of Auckland Mr John Paterson Garden, farmer of Roxburgh and to appoint Dame Mary Anne Salmond, university professor of Auckland as Deputy Presiding Member of the Foundation for Research, Science and Technology for a term commencing on 1 October 1996 and expiring on 17 November 1998.
