Fisheries (Quota Aggregation Limit Exemption) Notice (No. 1) 1996 (No. F34) Pursuant to section 28w (3) of the Fisheries Act 1983, the Minister of Fisheries, after consultation with the New Zealand Fishing Industry Board and the Treaty of Waitangi Fisheries Commission, hereby gives the following notice: N o t i c e 1. Title and commencement (1) This notice may be cited as the Fisheries (Quota Aggregation Limit Exemption) Notice (No. 1) 1996. (2) This notice shall come into effect on the day after its notification in the New Zealand Gazette. 2. Interpretation In this notice, ``Talleys Group'' means Talley's Fisheries Limited and McDonald & Brown Limited, and any companies owned or controlled by those companies. 3. Exemption to quota aggregation limit As from the date that this notice comes into effect, the Talleys group is permitted to hold quota and interest in quota in excess of the 20 percent aggregation limit as provided in section 28w (1) (d) of the Fisheries Act 1983, for the Southern Scallop Fishery, up to an aggregation limit of 28.6 percent.
