Application for a Permit to Film Marine Mammals Max Quinn of the National History Unit, TVNZ, 8 Dowling Street, Dunedin, has applied to the Minister of Conservation for a permit under section 6 of the Marine Mammals Protection Act 1978 to undertake the following activities to enable filming of southern right whales, Hooker's sea lions and southern elephant seals on Campbell Island and the Auckland Islands during July and August 1996: (a) Approach by boat to within 50 metres of right whales; (b) Place divers in the water to approach within 50 metres of right whales; (c) Approach to within 10 metres of Hooker's sea lions and southern elephant seals on shore.
