Glazing Exemption Notice Pursuant to regulation 36 of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990, and under and by way of powers delegated to me from the Director of Land Transport Safety in an instrument of delegation dated the 13th day of May 1996, I, Peter Nicholas Rendall, Senior Vehicle Compliance Officer, hereby exempt vehicles detailed in documents held by the Land Transport Safety Authority which are operated by the New Zealand Police, from compliance with the requirements of regulations 11, 26 (1) and 26 (5) of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990, insofar as regulations 11, 26 (1) and 26 (5) require the glazing in such vehicles (other than in the windscreens and the glazing attached to, or forming part of, the driver's door and the front passenger's door of the vehicles) to allow light transmittance at a rate greater than zero provided: (a) the said vehicles are fitted with external mirrors on both sides; and (b) the glazing in such vehicles as specified above in this exemption notice otherwise complies, in all respects, with the appropriate vehicle standard specified in the Second Schedule to the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990.
