Request to a Temporary Safeguard Authority to Undertake an Inquiry into the Importation of Goods Pursuant to section 5 (1) of the Temporary Safeguard Authorities Act 1987 (``the Act''), I, Philip Burdon, Minister of Commerce, request you to undertake an inquiry into the importation of the goods specified in the Schedule to this request (``the goods'') and report on the following matters: (a) Whether the industry in relation to the goods, has suffered or is likely to suffer material injury as a result of the importation of goods having regard to the matters set out in section 6 of the Act; and (b) If the industry has suffered or is likely to suffer such injury, (i) Whether urgent action is necessary to protect the industry in relation to the importation of the goods; and (ii) If such action is considered necessary, the nature of the protection that you consider to be appropriate in all the circumstances, and the extent and duration of such protection. Schedule Imported Goods Subject to a Temporary Safeguard Authority Inquiry Reinforced abrasive grinding discs and cut off wheels. The goods are currently classified under Tariff Item and Statistical Key 6804.22.00.01B of the Tariff of New Zealand.
