Notice of Intention to Apply for Ministerial Approval of a Code of Practice Under the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992 Forest Operations Part One Forest Establishment and Silviculture Pursuant to section 20 of the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992, I, R. J. M. Hill, General Manager, Occupational and Health Service of the Department of Labour, in exercise of those powers delegated to me by the Secretary of Labour, pursuant to section 40 of the State Sector Act 1988, hereby give notice of intention to apply to the Minister of Labour for his approval of a statement of preferred work practices or arrangements for health and safety in forest establishment and silviculture as an ``Approved Code of Practice'', under the Act. These preferred work practices or arrangements are designed to describe the general operational safety provisions as to protective clothing, first aid, machinery, road construction, use of agriculture chemicals, use of chainsaws and brushcutters, pruning and thinning, seed collection, fires and burnoffs and other related operations for the protection of employees and for others health and safety.
