Exemption from Parking Brake Requirements (Hydraulic Handbrake Alternative) Pursuant to regulation 36 of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990, and in exercise of powers delegated to me, pursuant to section 41 (1) of the State Sector Act 1988, I, Andrew Justice, Manager Vehicle Compliance, hereby exempt the specified class of vehicles from regulation 11, 13 (1) (c) and 13 (4) of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990, subject to the conditions specified in the Schedule below. Pursuant to regulation 89 of the Traffic Regulations 1976, and in exercise of powers delegated to me, pursuant to section 41 (1) of the State Sector Act 1988, I, Andrew Justice, Manager Vehicle Compliance, hereby exempt the specified class of vehicles from regulation 68 (1) and 68 (2) (b) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, subject to the conditions specified in the Schedule below. This exemption allows the fitting of a hydraulic handbrake in motor sport vehicles. The administration and conditions of this exemption are policed by the Motorsport Association of New Zealand (MANZ). This exemption may be withdrawn at any time. Specified Class The specified class of motor vehicle is: Any vehicle that is registered with and complies with the Motorsport Association of New Zealand Inc requirements. This applies to ``Motorsport Association vehicles in full compliance with Appendix J of the Motorsport Association of New Zealand manual''. Schedule of Conditions 1. MANZ issue an ``Authority Card'' with both LTSA and MANZ original logos. 2. The ``Authority Card'' must be carried in the vehicle at all times and produced when requested by: Police, LTSA or Warrant of Fitness Authorities. 3. The ``Authority Card'' shall identify the vehicle, vehicle owner and be of an acceptable format to the Land Transport Safety Authority. The ``Authority Card'' is not transferable. 4. In the event of the vehicle ceasing to comply with the above items, the appropriate mechanical parkbrake for road use must be fitted to the vehicle. Signed at Wellington this 22nd day of July 1994.
