Radiocommunications Interference Notice 1993, Amendment No. 1 Pursuant to regulation 41 of the Radiocommunications (Radio) Regulations 1993, the General Manager, Communications Division, Ministry of Commerce, acting under delegated authority from the Secretary of Commerce, hereby gives the following notice: N o t i c e 1. Title and commencement (1) This notice may be cited as the Radiocommunications Interference Notice 1993, Amendment No. 1, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Radiocommunications Interference Notice 1993 (hereinafter referred to as the principal notice). (2) This notice shall come into force on the day after its publication in the New Zealand Gazette. 2. Interpretation Clause 2 (1) of the principal notice is hereby amended by inserting, in its appropriate alphabetical order, the following definition: `` `RB' means a radio apparatus standard prescribed by the Secretary of Commerce:''. 3. Standards for appliances the main functions of which are performed by motors and switching or regulating devices, unless the radio-frequency energy is intentionally generated or intended for illumination Clause 5 of the principal notice is hereby amended by inserting, after subclause (4), the following subclause: ``(4A) Notwithstanding subclause (4) of this clause, subclause (3) of this clause shall not apply to the class of interfering equipment being electric fence energisers referred to in subclause (1) of this clause for emissions at the fence load terminals.'' 4. Standards for information technology equipment Clause 8 (3) (a) of the principal notice is hereby amended by omitting the expression ``1985'' and substituting the expression ``1993''. 5. New Clause inserted The principal notice is hereby amended by inserting, after clause 9, the following clause: ``9A. Standard for transmitting apparatus and systems for television broadcasting services (1) Transmitting apparatus for television broadcasting services is hereby prescribed as a class of interferring equipment. ``(2) The level of conformity applicable to the class of interfering equipment to which subclause (1) of this clause applies shall be level 0. ``(3) The standard applicable to the class of interfering equipment to which subclause (1) of this clause applies shall be specification RB 16, Issue 2, May 1994.'' 6. Standard for VHF and UHF angle modulated radio apparatus for use in the land mobile service with a carrier separation of 25 kHz and a maximum deviation of / 5 kHz Clause 15 (3) of the principal notice is hereby amended by omitting the words ``Issue 1, December 1991'' and substituting the words ``Issue 2, May 1994''. 7. Standard for restricted radiation radio apparatus Clause 19 (3) of the principal notice is hereby amended by omitting the words ``Issue 5, December 1992'' and substituting the words ``Issue 6, February 1994''. 8. Standards for non-speech radio apparatus using angle modulated with a carrier separation of 25 kHz and a maximum deviation of / 5 kHz Clause 20 (3) of the principal notice is hereby amended by omitting the words ``Issue 1, December 1991'' and substituting the words ``Issue 2, May 1994''. 9. Standard for VHF and UHF angle modulated radio apparatus for use in the fixed service with a carrier separation of 25 kHz or 50 kHz Clause 24 (3) of the principal notice is hereby amended by omitting the words ``Issue 1, July 1992'' and substituting the words ``Issue 2, May 1994''. 10. New clauses inserted The principal notice is hereby amended by inserting, after clause 25, the following clause: ``25A. Standard for radio apparatus for use in the personal radio service (1) Personal radio apparatus for use in the personal radio service is hereby prescribed as a class of interfering equipment. ``(2) The level of conformity applicable to the class of interfering equipment to which subclause (1) of this clause applies shall be level 2. ``(3) The standard applicable to the class of interfering equipment to which subclause (1) of this clause applies ``(a) Shall be specification RFS 25, Issue 2, May 1994 for interfering equipment used in the personal radio service as a repeater station; or ``(b) Shall be specification RFS 39, Issue 1, May 1994 for all other interfering equipment to which subclause (1) of this clause applies.'' Explanatory Note This note is not part of the notice, but is intended to indicate its general effect. This notice prescribes amends and inserts classes of interfering equipment (as defined by section 2 (1) of the Radiocommunications Act 1989), the level of conformity applicable to the particular classes, and the standards applicable to those classes of interfering equipment.
