Pursuant to section 60A of the Education Act 1989 (incorporating all amendments), the Minister of Education hereby publishes the National Curriculum Statements for Technology in The New Zealand Curriculum and Hangarau in Te Marautanga o Aotearoa.

The National Curriculum Statement for Technology within The New Zealand Curriculum is available online at: http://nzcurriculum.tki.org.nz/The-New-Zealand-Curriculum/Technology.

The National Curriculum Statement for Hangarau within Te Marautanga o Aotearoa is available online at: http://tmoa.tki.org.nz/Te-Marautanga-o-Aotearoa/Nga-Wahanga-Ako/Hangarau.

The existing National Curriculum Statements for Technology in The New Zealand Curriculum and Hangarau within Te Marautanga o Aotearoa (New Zealand Gazette, 4 February 1999, No. 16, page 364) are hereby revoked with effect from 2 February 2020.

During the transition period between the publication of this notice and the applicable date set out above, schools may base their programmes of study in Technology and Hangarau on the current set of national curriculum statements, but should work towards full implementation of the new curriculum requirements by 2 February 2020.

This notice amends National Curriculum: National Curriculum Statements notified in the New Zealand Gazette, 29 October 2009, No. 157, page 3813.
