Pursuant to section 308(2)(i) of the Education Act 1989,
I hereby declare that premises of the following kind or description are not early childhood centres.
Any premises during any period of use for the education or care of children for any period not exceeding four hours a week in circumstances where the children’s parents or caregivers are:
(i) in close proximity to the children and are able to be contacted; and
(ii) able to resume responsibility for the children at short notice.
This notice shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.
