Pursuant to Regulations 20 and 22 of the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1999, the Minister of Fisheries and the Chief Executive of the Ministry of Fisheries hereby give the following notice.
N o t i c e
1. Title and commencement-(1) This notice may be cited as the Fisheries (Declaration and Notification of Mataitai Reserve) Amendment Notice 2001.
(2) This notice shall come into effect on the day after its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.
2. Interpretation-In this notice, "principal notices"
means the Fisheries (Declaration of Mataitai Reserve) Notice 2000 (No. F167) and the Fisheries (Notification
of Mataitai Reserve and Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki) Notice 2000 (No. F168).
3. Clause 2 (c) amended-Clause 2 of the principal
notices is hereby amended by omitting paragraph (c), and substituting "Any reference to area/rohe moana means the area encompassing those waters in Koukourarata Harbour that lie south of a straight line drawn from
Te Piaka/Adderley Head (at approximately 43?36.24' S
and approximately 172?49.54' E) to Akeake/Baleine
Point (at approximately 43?36.21' S and approximately 172?51.19' E)."
