Chartered Professional Engineers of New Zealand Rules 2026
The rules are the Chartered Professional Engineers of New Zealand Rules 2026.
The rules come into force on 1 September 2026.
Pursuant to section 40(2) of the Chartered Professional Engineers of New Zealand Act 2002, the Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand Incorporated, after complying with Rule 90 of the Chartered Professional Engineers of New Zealand Rules 2025, makes the following rules (which, in the case of the rules containing CPEng standards, have been prepared and approved by the Chartered Professional Engineers Council in accordance with section 41 of that Act).
The Chartered Professional Engineers of New Zealand Rules 2025 (New Zealand Gazette, 17 June 2025, Notice No. 2025-sl3196) are revoked on 31 August 2026.
The rules will be published on www.registrationauthority.org.nz/legislation.
The administering agency is the Institution of Professional Engineers of New Zealand Incorporated (IPENZ), trading as Engineering New Zealand.
These rules are secondary legislation for the purposes of the Legislation Act 2019.
